Somewhere along the way, all of a sudden it’s the unofficial start of summer. Backdoors stay open, the airiness lingers with longer days, and dinner starts to move outside without much discussion. The first BBQ of the season settles in naturally with something on the grill and a table set just enough to gather ‘round.
We’re often told to buy more new, but less often told to look at what already exists. In a world that moves quickly, there’s something grounding about choosing a piece that has already lived a life, one that doesn’t ask anything new of the Earth, only a place to land next.
April is when getting dressed gets good again. No more winter layering for survival, but not quite summer’s barely-there ease. Rather it's the in-between stretch where your anchored pieces start pulling their weight in all the right ways.
March arrives with a new kind of openness and ease of daily rituals. Longer days carry you further, unfolding into evening walks, family tennis matches and al fresco dining as a renewed option to end the night.
January favors the small shifts. Not the kind that requires clearing everything out or starting from scratch, just quiet adjustments that make a space feel clearer while still holding what you need. This is a time when intention shows up in how everyday objects are both gathered and lived with thoughtfully.
As we look ahead to 2026, one thing feels abundantly clear: we are craving less noise and more meaning. Our home is meant to be a space that encourages presence, individuality and a slow, intentional way of living.
December shows up cold (even in California, okay?!) and instead of fighting it, were here to adapt. It’s the month of practical warmth done well, where even getting dressed takes a little more thought.
November settles in, softening the edges of daily life and inviting a quieter way of moving about. The days shorten, the light mellows, and everything feels a little more intimate. Conversations linger, dinners stretch long after the plates are cleared and the familiar presence of loved ones becomes its own kind of grounding.
