The Vintage Rug Shop is a home furnishings & decor lifestyle brand that is recognized as the destination for shopping effortlessly Californian interiors.  In August 2019 the owner, Brittany Chinaglia, brought the successful online store to its first ever physical storefront in the heart of Temescal Oakland, CA, and our team is growing!

We are currently seeking a Social Media Coordinator to assist with the day-to-day management and expansion of our social presence. The ideal candidate will develop & execute strategies to promote brand awareness, grow a loyal customer base, while driving traffic and revenue streams towards The Vintage Rug Shop website. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Owner/CEO to strategize and execute all social media and marketing initiatives to build The Vintage Rug Shop digital presence and overall brand
  • Partner with the Owner/CEO to drive brand vision with short-term and long-term goals
  • Manage social media accounts for The Vintage Rug Shop and Britt Interiors. Duties include daily posting, community engagement, product linking, etc. on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest while maintaining brand voice across all channels
  • Develop and execute creative content to engage followers including IG stories, reels, video, feed posts, etc. 
  • Participate in all lifestyle photoshoots documenting behind-the-scenes content
  • Stay versed on new advancements on all social platforms and industry trends
  • Build and manage a results-driven social calendar; work closely with our Owner/CEO and eCommerce Manager on upcoming product launches, events, and marketing initiatives
  • Assist with the creation and editing of graphics for social, website content, and all branding as needed
  • Develop and track marketing budgets and analyze campaign ROI
  • Monitor key metrics on all social platforms to provide recommendations to improve engagement rate, visibility, and audience
  • Report findings of social analytics to Owner/CEO at the end of each week/month

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Photoshop
  • Canva
  • InDesign

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of recent experience in social media, marketing, or editorial roles
  • Exceptional knowledge and passion for all social media platforms, advertising, and marketing strategies
  • Proven ability to create engaging social media and editorial content
  • Must have strong photography skills and a keen eye for beautiful visual storytelling
  • Incredibly detail oriented, organized & self-motivated
  • Must be proficient in graphic design with ability to work in InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
  • Exceptional writing skills with a strong understanding of The Vintage Rug Shop’s brand voice
  • Must understand affiliate programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be open to working nights and weekends, as social media is 24/7
  • Knowledge of Home Décor, Interior Design industry or retail is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally with teams and externally with brand partners, followers, customers, and clients
  • Be flexible, responsive, have a good attitude, and think on your feet
  • Must live in the Bay Area with reliable transportation and commute daily to our Oakland, CA Office
