Everyone has something to hide.

The Willful Heiress
An excellent education, an enviable wardrobe and absolutely no intention of putting either to sensible use. Considered one of the season's most eligible young ladies. Much to her annoyance.
Currently reading: The Scarlet Pimpernel (1903). Has developed unreasonable expectations of gentlemen.
Guilty pleasure: Strawberries and cream. Preferably spoon-fed to her.
Financial standing: Extremely comfortable. Has never asked why.
Favorite room: Anywhere the Dowager isn't.

The Charming Collector
Has traveled extensively, loved indiscriminately and never once packed his own luggage. Handsome, impeccably tailored and rumored to be worth a small fortune. Describes himself as self-made, though his grandfather did most of the work.
Currently: Not Reading
Drink of Choice: Single malt whisky. Preferably from a private collection.
Marital Status: Unattached. Per official records.
Last seen: Was admiring the landscaping. Quite extensively.

The Unyielding Dowager
Matriarch of Blackthorn Manor and self-appointed authority on absolutely everything. Has survived two husbands, three financial crises and countless disappointments in the younger generation.
Currently reading: The Hound of the Baskervilles (1902). Finds the family rather relatable.
Known weakness: None she cares to discuss.
Drink of choice: Sherry. Medicinal quantities.
Greatest embarrassment: Once said “please” to a doorman. Denies it to this day.

The Dutiful Butler
27 years in service and not a single misplaced teaspoon. Has witnessed three generations of family scandals and remains professionally unimpressed by all of them.
Currently Reading: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1892). Finds the detective rather indiscreet.
Greatest fear: A guest who insists on helping.
Personal Motto: I shall see to it.
Favorite food: Cold roast beef. Ideally consumed without conversation.

Lord Crumpet
A highly decorated member of the household with an unblemished record of loyalty. Has maintained an impeccable record of barking at legitimate guests and allowing suspicious individuals unrestricted access to the premises.
Greatest accomplishment: Successfully apprehended a slipper in 1901.
Known weakness: Bribery. Particularly in sausage form.
Last seen: Beneath the dining table. Gathering intelligence.
Favorite food: Whatever the Dowager is having.
