We’re Moving! The Vintage Rug Shop is Coming to Berkeley’s 4th Street

We couldn’t be more eager with you to share that The Vintage Rug Shop has officially opened its doors on 4th Street in Berkeley! This move marks an invigorating new chapter for us, one that represents our growth, creativity, and dedication to crafting a space that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. After months of hard work reimagining every detail, we’re ready to welcome you to a home that truly reflects the essence of who we are.


The decision to move came naturally as we looked to create an experience that would continue to push the bounds of our brand in all the right directions. Surrounded by other inspiring design and home-centered brands, along with a bustling community and vibrant energy, 4th Street felt like the perfect place to root our vision. It’s a dynamic space where good design meets artistry and charm, and we’re excited to be part of a neighborhood that appreciates quality and craftsmanship as much as we do.

Nestled amidst the artistry and design hub of Berkeley’s 4th Street, our new shop invites you to explore our thoughtfully curated world where vintage charm meets modern living.

A Space to Inspire

This isn’t just a move to a new location, it’s a calculated leap into our next chapter. Since we started online in 2015, and especially since taking the plunge into brick-and-mortar with our first Oakland shop in 2019, we’ve grown in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Those early days taught us invaluable lessons about risk, resilience and refinement. With this expansion, we’re embracing the opportunity to go bigger, bolder, and even more thoughtfully collected. This new location feels like our ‘grown-up’ store– a space that embodies our evolution yet honors the journey that has defined us over the years.

We’ve put our passion and creativity into every step, reimagining what The Vintage Rug Shop can be. With more room to breathe, explore, and showcase our beautifully curated rugs and home decor, this new space elevates the entire shopping experience. Its airy, open layout invites you to wander, soaking in the vintage charm found in every nook and cranny of the shop.

Designing a New Chapter

The creative process behind this move has been a journey of its own and nothing short of transformative. We’ve had the freedom to think bigger and more intentionally about how we want to grow. From the layout to the smallest details, every decision has been made with purpose, ensuring that this new space reflects the evolution of The Vintage Rug Shop.

We poured ourselves into every corner of the shop, from laying new floors to designing fresh walls that bring our pieces to life. Every detail has been crafted to make this a warm, inviting environment that feels uniquely ours– a space where textures and tones tell stories, and every rug, decor or kitchen piece, along with all the other accents invite you to linger a little longer. Moving into a larger, more robust space has allowed us to showcase our collections in a way that feels expansive and yet intimately connected to our roots.

Designed with heart and intention, our new space on 4th Street is a reflection of our passion, blending warmth and artistry into every corner.

We’ve spent countless hours dreaming up ideas for this location, playing with color palettes, testing textures, and sourcing pieces that feel just right.
