Karajeh is a small mountain village near Tabriz, Iran, and are named for the village in which they are woven. The culture in the Karajeh village centers around beautiful, unique rugs woven by native women, and are some of the highest quality of rugs available. These rugs are made of long-lasting materials and woven into tight knots, comprised of cotton and wool. The most distinguishing feature of Karajeh rugs is the use of triple and all-over medallions. Karajeh rugs are designed with soft earth-toned color palettes and vibrant geometric patterns. No two Karajeh rugs are alike - each rug features a different medallion or pattern which the women weavers of Karajeh often design themselves. We love the incredible history and culture Karajeh rugs carry and their earthy palette is a perfect pair for well-collected interiors.
