POSITION: Fulfillment Specialist
SUPERVISOR: Store Manager

 

The Vintage Rug Shop is a home furnishings & decor lifestyle brand that is recognized as the destination for shopping a laid-back, collected, California interior aesthetic. Our storefront is in the heart of the Temescal District in Oakland, and our team is growing!

We are currently seeking a professional, motivated, organized, fulfillment specialist to join our team. This position isn’t for everyone, we’re seeking a mutually perfect fit. This is a fast-paced & occasionally physical position, meaning you must be able to stand, crouch, lift objects & parcels throughout your workday. 

The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills and solid experience in online order fulfillment; will have a high level of integrity and an excellent work ethic. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to handle the day-to-day responsibilities of working in a retail store and adept at building strong and lasting customer relationships. This person will be an integral part in the success of our retail presence.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fulfill online orders in a timely, efficient manner using careful packing methods to prevent breakage & maximize customer experience 
  • Utilize shipping software (Shopify/USPS/UPS)
  • Locate merchandise from stockroom & retail floor
  • Carefully pack orders, paying special attention to delicate items to prevent damage
  • Unload delivery trucks
  • Unbox/unpack and put away new inventory shipments, monitor damage & breakage, tag new merchandise
  • Ensure each inbound delivery matches the purchase order
  • Maintain a clean & organized shipping station and stock room
  • Shipping & stockroom maintenance including checking supply stock and owning supply orders
  • Accept deliveries at warehouse (Berkeley), must have car and be able to travel between warehouse & retail location
  • Breakdown boxes & take out trash
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong organization & computer skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Able to maintain high standards of organization & cleanliness
  • Must be able to climb a ladder as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Team oriented & positive attitude
  • Must be available to work weekends and during the holiday season
  • Knowledge of Excel and Google Docs
  • Knowledge of Shopify a plus
    SALARY + BENEFITS

    This is a part time position (~24 hours/week, workweek is Tuesday - Saturday) located in Oakland, CA. We offer competitive pay dependent on experience and discounts on merchandise.
