Our vintage Turkish prayer rugs were hand-picked from the small town of Oushak in Anatolia, located south of Istanbul, Turkey. Unlike traditional Turkish rugs, Oushak rugs are influenced by Persian designs and portray geometric floral motifs with central medallion or sprays of vines and palmettes/leafy patterns. They are soft and tend to have a medium to high pile. The size of prayer rugs is specifically made to accommodate small practical purposes, and are compact and light enough to carry.  We love using this style of rug in front of a bathroom or kitchen sink.

This rug has been professionally cleaned

Cleaning: Vacuum on occasion, with hardwood floor setting. Spot clean with mild detergent and water, never use a carpet cleaner machine to clean a vintage rug. If your rug needs a thorough clean, take it to a professional.

Storing: Always roll rugs when stored. Vacuum on occasion, with suction only (no bristles!)
