Rugs produced in the North Western region of Persia span across a range of cultures and regions including parts of Iran, Azerbijan, and Armenia. Weavers in this region had slower processes and were not as prolific in production as other weaving regions. However, many of the rarest and highest quality carpets have been sold from this region. North West Persian rugs carry geometric patterns and bolder colors, all-over lattice work often with a folklore feel. The range of styles and patterns throughout the centuries woven in this region were heavily influenced by the era of rule in which this region was under, which is a unique characteristic as weavers in this region are of multiple ethnicities.
This rug has been professionally cleaned
Cleaning: Vacuum on occasion, with hardwood floor setting. Spot clean with mild detergent and water, never use a carpet cleaner machine to clean a vintage rug. If your rug needs a thorough clean, take it to a professional.
Storing: Always roll rugs when stored. Vacuum on occasion, with suction only (no bristles!)
Living: Rug pad recommended (check out our favorite rug pads here!)
